Technical Response, Inc. is Hiring an Automation Technician Near Knoxville, TN

Description

Job Summary:

The Automation Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and fixing small scale automation machines. They will be required to troubleshoot mechanical systems, low voltage DC electrical circuits and air powered components in a factory environment. May be required to assist in commissioning of new equipment and in equipment rebuilds.

This is a hands-on position that requires functioning knowledge of electricity, electronics, mechanical systems, and computers. Must be able to communicate and maintain machine safety and operations protocols for machines. 

Job Duties:

  • Small Automation cells for injection molding decoration and assembly: approx. 6’x10’
  • 24V industrial DC circuits, components, and sensors
  • Low pressure pneumatic cylinders (compressed air)
  • PLC control logic and error codes (no programming needed)
  • Motor controllers: stepper motors, linear actuators, and DC motors

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field, preferred but not required
  • 2 or more years of experience required
  • Technical Training, preferred but not required
  • Electrical experience (hobby or occupational)
  • Plastics Manufacturing experience, preferred but not required
  • PLC troubleshooting experience, preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping on a regular basis, all day. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Fine hand and finger manipulation is required.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position. This is a 12-hour shift position and would be assigned to a rotating shift. Must be available weekends.
